Goals in three horizons
Think about it
What would you like to be different one year from now?
Myth
A goal only counts if we can fund it right now.
Truth
Writing a goal down sets the order. The funding can come later.
The idea
Three horizons help: one year (a repair, a trip, a paid-off card), five years (a car, a down payment, tuition), and ten years or more (retirement, a family milestone).
Naming them is enough to begin. Each one can be given an amount and a date whenever you are ready.
Example
A household writes three goals in one sitting, then points a single small monthly amount at the first one.
My takeaway
One sentence, saved privately to your plan. Optional.
Ask yourself
Which goal comes first for your family?
